This is my favorite song. Sure, I have lots of favorite songs, but I am pretty sure this is my favorite favorite songs.
Two of some of my most favorite memories involve this song. Once, a great friend of mine and I danced to it. We both knew all the lyrics and were singing it the entire time. XD Another time, I took the computer outside and played this song and watched the fireflies. The music and the little bugs went perfectly together. It was like the fireflies were dancing to it. The only word that can describe it is magical. Jay
OK, so, I know I've been really neglecting JGO a lot lately, and I apologize. I mean, all I've been doing lately is Grins of the Week, i.e, only the essentials.
As of this moment, I am going to try and be a bit better about posting more stuff, 'cause, really I do love this blog.
I've been spending a great deal of my time drawing, and I recently got a DeviantArt account and have been spending gabbodles of time there (My love for art outweighed my love for cool/funny stuff.) But I am seriously going to try to save a little of my time for posting good ones. :)
This weeks grin is Hawkeye, from 'The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.'
That was an awesome TV show. Kae and I just finished it yesterday. I think Hawkeye was our favorite character. I mean, all the characters were absolutely AWESOME, but Hawkeye had all the best lines. And the dude fights with a bow and arrows!!!
The other day, we went and saw "Captain America: The First Avenger."
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
It didn't have quite the same raw epicness that "Thor" did, but it was way more interesting. I loved it. They did a perfect job. Absolutely perfect. The casting was superb. At first I was a bit skeptical about Chris Evens playing The Captain. I mean, I'll I'd seen him do was Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four. But he was simply wonderful as Captain America. Hugo Weaving as Red Scull was a stroke of sheer brilliance. Bucky was wonderful, but I do believe I would have preferred him being a bit more like he was in the comics (A teenager). Peggy Carter was great. It would have been very easy for them to have made her annoying, but she wasn't. Not in the least.
The action was epic. Like seriously epic. Watching gaboodles of HYDRA guys getting creamed with a shied is seriously awesome. Aw man. Captain America is like the only guy in the world with a motorcycle that can blow up tanks. That part was so cool.
Oh, it was such an awesome movie. The ending was awesome. I'd elaborate, but then I would spoil it. It definitely is one of my favorite movies, now.
I am in love with the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. Hopelessly. Deeply. Truly. In love.
We spent the last week of July up there, it was one of the most awesome weeks ever. I mean, the fact that we were up there with amazing family was a huge part of it. But the U. P. is one of the absolute neatest places I've ever been. The weather, the landscape, the white birches, the cool places, the great lakes, it was all really cool.
"We drank the Great Lakes Like cold lemonade, And both got stomach-aches Sprawled out in the shade.."
I thought of these lyrics from "Hot Air Balloon" several times. Ya' know why?
Haha, yeah. We drank the Great Lakes!!!
Well, kinda.
We drank from Lake Superior. And waded in Lake Superior and got rocks form Lake Superior and swam in Lake Superior and almost froze to death in Lake Superior.
(Lake Superior)
It was awesome. Really, really awesome. I had never really given Lake Superior much thought, but it was one of the single most awesome things I've ever seen. It was so...so....so BIG. You know, few things can compare to standing in this giant body of water and thinking to yourself, wow, at the other side of all this water is Canada. It was awe-inspiring.
Lake Michigan was really neat, too. Superior was awesome, Michigan was just plain fun. The water wasn't nearly as cold, and it stayed shallow very far out. There was this large rock in it that Kae and I went and climbed on. It was fun.

The U. P. is an awesome place and I will treasure the memories I made there forever.
