Grin of the Week
Young Thor, from the beginning of "Thor." He's a seriously cute kid. :)
(It's not so obvious out of context, but he is smiling.)
Have a great week!

:)
So...yeah, it wasn't very grown up of me to be trying on the Spider-man mask in the toys aisle at Wal-Mart...

The Dark Knight
I don't normally post my art on JGO, but this picture was exceptional, see, I really, really out did myself. So I figured I would share this one.
(It's based on a pic from a t-shirt: I'm not that good enough yet to come up with something this good on my own)

Self Portrait
Many great artists have a self portrait of some kind or another, and, well, I'm not great, but I figured I should have a self portrait...of some kind.
I really don't know how I came up with this idea, but it seemed like the best way to portray me: I drew three figures: an Elvish warrior (The LoTR fan, who does have the heart of a struggling young warrior), a superhero (The Marvel fan, who believes in justice and always doing what's right, no matter the cost) and a nerd (The LoTR fan and the Marvel fan, and the all around OK kid, who is an introvert artist).
It's a simple pic; I could have made it a lot cooler, if I'd wanted to. But I didn't want too, I wanted it plain and simple, like me.
(For the record, the one on the far right is how I actually dress)
(The pic looks better in person)

Quote of the Day
"Marry, sir, they have committed false report; moreover, they have spoken untruths; secondarily,
they are slanders; sixth and lastly, they have belied a lady; thirdly, they have verified unjust things; and, to conclude, they are lying knaves. " (Dogberry, Much Ado About Nothing.)
Best. Line. Ever.
Well, one of them.

"I'm working on a picture...it's kinda a self-portrait."
"Really? Of who?"

I just thought this was kinda awesome. XD

White and Nerdy
It' official. ...Like, more official than before. So, we all knew I was a nerd, but now, now I actually have glasses. It's official.
Yes, I wear superhero T-Shirts, I love Spider-Man, all of my favorite movies (Save LoTR) are by Marvel, I really don't do well in social environments, I actually enjoy reading Shakespeare, all three of my friends are nerds/geeks (So, I do have more than three....almost.), and I've seen almost every episode of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation,'. The glasses are just the icing on the cake.
You don't have to worry about me, I'm not going blind or anything; I'm just a wee but farsighted, and yes, an official nerd.

"You don't find the Fantastic Four in a sewer. Or the Avengers. NEVER have I seen the Avengers in a sewer."

Epic
So, uh, for the record, this is the most epic thing I've seen all day.
Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. blasting away at something. It just makes me happy. XD
(It's one of the first pictures from The Avengers)

...
It's always sad waking up to find that one's stuffed animal has been wedged between the bed and wall...
(He was OK, though. :} )

Grin of the Week
I have this piece of paper that I use whenever I'm drawing. I put it behind whatever piece of paper I'm drawing on, so if my markers go off the page, they get on it and not on something important. I use it to see what color a marker is, or how two colors work together, or to scribble on if my pen isn't working. I use it for all kinds of things. It's covered with lots of little faces, and this is one of my favorites. 8)
Have a great week,
Jay
