Grin of the Week

Ah, yes, Hannibal Smith smirking proudly on hearing a brilliant plan.

Liam Neeson in The A-Team.

And yeah, I know I do The Awesome Liam Neeson a lot. Funny, he isn't even a smiley person...

Grin of the Week

I almost forgot. But I did remember it's Monday!

I really had forgotten that I had to do a grin, so I went around searching at the last minute and found this picture.

Galadriel, from The Lord of the Rings.

She really is very lovely.

Classical Music

So. I am on the computer and Kae is lying on her bed. We often like to listen to music when we are hanging out. She says classical and I head to Youtube. She grabs this old music book and starts looking up stuff for me to look up. (We don't know that much about classical music.)

After a minute she says "Chopin." Op. something No. something. I start typing

s-h-o-p-e-n

Kae starts spelling for me so I can find it

c-h-o-p-i-n

Me: O-oh...it's not spelled sho-pan?

Kae: No.

Oh.

We get tired of Chopin. She says Haydn. (I always thought that should be said hay-den...)

Me: H-i-d-i-n' ? ;)

Kae: Hahaha

Later we go back to Chopin. She says "okay, type in Mazurka."

Me: WHOA! DUDE AWESOME!!! That sounds like some GIANT GUN!!!!!!! 8D

So, classical music according to Jay. Shopan; he wrote songs about guns.

:)

Are there words to describe how happy this made me?

I didn't think so.

All credit goes to the guy on the fan-art website who made it. Nice work, dude.

Jay

Jealous

After that last post, I just wanted to let you know that I am still me.

Yes, I am making fun of them. (With all due respect.)

Jay

Uncharacteristic

O.K. Just this once (Although I really can't guarantee it will only be once.) I've decided to go completely contrary to everything JGO stands for. What does JGO stand for? Other that a way to vent my craziness, I really couldn't say.

Okayokay, I'll say it. This post is about clothes. *Cringes*

Some people have news websites that the go on every day, well I, I have IMDb. Every day I go there. (Pathetic, I know.) And as you may be aware, there was recently this big thing about Golden Globes. And as I like pictures, I looked at the pictures from it. (People really have not tastes, you know that?) Amazingly, a few of the dresses weren't ugly. A little over five, to be exact.

I am not overly fond of any of these gowns, they are just the best ones.

Sad thing is, two of 'em were pink. AND I HATE PINK! But I still know when something is nice.

(Lea Michele)

I thought Scarlett Johansson's dress was rather pretty. It would have been much better though in a different color.

I like white dresses, usually, and I thought this one, worn by Jennifer Lopez was very lovely.

I just liked the color. And it wasn't ugly.

(Amy Adams)

All in all, this one, worn by Catherine Zeta-Jones, has to be the best (This isn't the best picture of it.).

The guys all looked the same. But one or two stood a little bit out. Namely Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. The thing about Mr. Depp is, well, his shirt had square buttons and his shoes were, well, scuffed. He looked shabby in a very classy way. Mr. Bale (Could have used a hair cut...) ...looked rather stunning, actually, in a very, very spiffy suit and black shirt and black tie.

All pictures were lovingly stolen from the very unobliging IMDb.

Grin of the Week

Ah yes! Late but not forgotten, The Monday Grin.

The other night, we watched the 2010 A-Team movie. Man, that is a great movie. Anyhow, the greatest person in that movie, of course, is Hannibal Smith, the leader of the A-Team. And the greatest thing about him is, next to the fact that he always has a plan, is that he is played by the Awesome Liam Neeson.

And so, I wanted to do him.

This shot is about my all-time favorite in the entire movie.

His plan just came together.

Hmm

I am never (Almost never.) one to just go ahead and believe something I hear, or even see.

While looking at pictures on the internet the other day, I came across a picture, a movie still from Raiders of the Lost Ark. And in the background you could see on a pillar, amongst the hieroglyphics, R2D2 and C3PO. I figured it was possible, but I didn't believe it.

But, we happen to own Raiders of the Lost Ark (All four Indiana Jones movies, actually.) so this morning, I looked it up.

Well, wadda 'ya know.

You only see it this clearly for a fraction of a second, but you can see it a bit before this moment, but it is blurry.

Amazing.

Doctors

Doctors. There is something about them, they almost always find a way into my heart. (Dude! That was NOT a pun or anything! I meant I like them. O_O )

Oh my.

Anyhow, as I was saying, there really is something about the doctor (Medic, what every you want to call 'em.) that I almost always like them.

Dr. Leonard McCoy from Star Trek.
Bones is my favorite TOS character. He always was and always will be. I always thought Spock was waaaaay overrated (and still do) and that McCoy never got enough credit for how great he was. Dude, he saves lives every day, and everyone just goes dippy over the stuck-up-green-blooded-hobgoblin. Even in Star Trek 09, McCoy is utterly amazing. (And the fact that he is played by Carl Urban really doesn't hurt any. ;) )

Spock always nagged Bones because he cared about his patients. But I think that that was what made him great.

Next to being one of the few people with any morals in the show 'Firefly' (And even then they weren't anything to write home about.), and the most awesome, I mean
AWESOME brother that ever lived, Simon Tam is an excellent doctor who must have saved the lives of every one if the 'Serenity's crew at least once.
So, aside from the stated reasons, why do I like him so much? He is probably the only person in the world who hates Jayne Cobb as much as I do. (For those of you that haven't watched 'Firefly' (And shouldn't watch Firefly) the term "Jerk" was invented be people who had to live with someone like Jayne.)

Don't let his looks fool you, Simon really is truly awesome. He gave up everything he had to save his sister and continued risking his life to keep her safe. He really is, in my mind, about every thing a brother should be.

Yeah, he is a doctor.

An Autobot doctor. Ratchet is (Well, my favorite version of him,) a lovable grouchy fellow. In the real world, 'lovable' and 'grouchy' really can not describe the same person, but for Ratchet, they can. He really doesn't like humans, but he takes good care of his comrades. For a good paragraph about him, one really should get Kae to write it. (She knows him better that I do, being a gitty-weird fan-girl. (I did get a quote from said fan-girl "He is just like... fabulous! ) Or Optimus Prime.

Prime would have honest words of high praise for his trusted and loyal medic.

Trance Gemini, from the show 'Andromeda,' has a very special place in my heart.

She was one of my childhood heroes. (And yes, she is purple. And yes, she has a tail. And yes, I was even weird as a kid.) Trance may seem to be the most naive person in the entire universe, but really, she very often knows what is going on more than anyone else. She is a very sweet and caring medic, she has a way with living thing, patients and plants and the like.

There is really to much that I could say about her.
There is always something about Trance, I really could to a whole blog post just on her.

I like Dr. Crusher pretty well. Not as much as I do the others that are here, but still pretty well. But do you know what? When you get right down to it, of all the doctors I like (that I like better that her) she is the one that I would most like to take care of me. I would feel the most comfortable around her, being a female doctor, you know. And also, if McCoy was my doctor, Spock might see me, and there would be instant mutual dislike. If Simon was my doctor, that would mean that I had somehow gotten mixed up with the crew of
Serenity, and that could only mean something disastrous had happened and or would happen. Ratchet would not be the doctor of a human. Trance, she maybe I could take, and she would probably like me (She likes people.) but her universe is a bit scary. 0_0 So it leaves Dr.Crusher.

Grin of the Week

Picard is all alone on his ship and he pauses for a moment to reflect smilingly on the empty bridge. Episode: "Starship Mine."

I personally think he looks like he has a bucket of water in his right hand and is about to dump it on some unsuspecting person below.

Grin of the Week

Well, I was thinking last night about how tomorrow was Monday and how it was also J.R.R Tolkien's birthday, and wondering what I was going to do for Tolkien and what I was going to do for the Monday Grin, and then Oh! *duh.*

Happy Birthday, Mr. Tolkien!

Have a wonderful week, dear reader.
