Toy Story 3
Well, the other day, we watched Toy Story 3.
Hm. Aside from being one of the saddest movies I've seen in a looong time, and rather scary, I liked it.
It has been years and years since I've seen the first two, but I am pretty sure I liked them better than I liked this one.
I go ahead and get the downsides over with.
It was just plain sad. Period. Every thing about it was sad. That Andy was grown up and leaving. Leaving his mom, leaving his toys, just leaving. It was sad. And the tragic villain, that was sad, too. Secondly, it was scary. I can take scary, don't get me wrong. But this was just scary. When they were all about to get melted. I really didn't like that part. At all. And the guard monkey was really, really creepy. Big time.
Now the good sides. It was awesome. Woody, Buzz, all of them, they were just awesome. The Barbie and Ken thing was really great. And Andy...Way. Awesome. 17yr-old. Liked him. And Buzz doing the tango? Can you beat that? Priceless. It was a really sweet movie and the end was happy.
I really liked the movie. Lots of great lines and clever characters.
These were my two favorite lines.
Rex: Woody, it's nice... See, the door has a rainbow on it.
And...
Chunk: He ain't the sharpest knife in the... place where... they keep the knives...

Stan Lee
This a bit late, but, today was Stan Lees' birthday.
88.
Wow.
Anyhow, he created some pretty awesome people, and for that, I think he must be a little bit awesome, too.
I have here minute fraction of all the coolness he invented, to honor him.
Besides, how can't you like some one who has a cameo in everything cool?

Death By Photography
So, we had some snow. And around here, snow is a very big thing. Even more so this time, as this was about the most snow we've had here in about 6 years. Soooo, I have to go take pictures. It's what we do. Also my first BIG snow with my new camera. I get all bundled up head for the forest. (Any pictures worth taking are usually taken in a forest.) I snap a few of the trees and then Oh! I get this great idea. (Detect the heavy sarcasm.)
I sit down in the snow.
Now, I, being me, it is not overly unusual to do something of that nature (Read "something stupid.") Well, believe it or not, I actually wasn't sitting in the snow just for the sake of sitting in the snow. I am an artist. And though drawing with pencil is my main focus, I do sometimes do other stuff. Like photography.
Uh huh.
I thought there would be something artistic about taking pictures lying in the snow!
Heehee.
It was actually quite fun. Only a small fraction of the pictures were good, but some were OK. I also got some neat pictures of the trees above me, and I got to see the lovely snow falling off their branches.
But all of the sudden (And it did happen Very fast.) I got cold. VERY cold. Very, very cold.
So in the end, maybe lying on my back in 4+ in. of snow wasn't my most brilliant ideas...
Oh well. I'm weird like that sometimes...

???
I just finished watching Attack of the Clones.
I still have absolutely NO clue why Padme even likes Anakin. Infact, I have even less of a clue, as I usually fast-forward their parts together, this time I didn't. I was like Man! What does she see in him?!?!? He's even worse than I remember.
Obi-Wan is epic, though.

Quote of the Day
"Slip and fall, you did. Tease you I must."
I have this awesome 9yr-old cousin who likes to talk like Yoda. And Kae kicked herself over on the ice. At least I think he is nine...

Finding the Alphabet...
Have you ever played a car game where you are supposed to find every letter of the alphabet? Kae and I and one of our cousins played that game. It was fun. The funny thing is, have you ever noticed how one will repeat the letter over and over, as if calling it would make it appear.
"Q...q.....qqqq...q. Q...qqqqqqq q...q .....q..q.......Q!"

I Did It!
I did it! I did it!!!
I DID IT!!!
I DID IT, I TELL YOU! I DID IT!
Whooo! *Pant pant* YES! I actually did do it! I finally did it. I never thought I would, I really, really never thought I would. And now I have!
I watched The Dark Knight.
It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
But then again, I was thinking it was going to be. I guess it would be worse if I thought about it...
I have both a great deal to say about it, and nothing to say about it. So I will just try and make the great deal short.
The parts I liked, I liked very much. The parts I didn't like. I don't think about lest I hate the movie. I don't regret watching it, and that is good, for few things are as bad as watching a movie and regretting it.
It really wasn't, in my opinion, half as good as Batman Begins. A quarter, really. It was very interesting. But not cool. And cool counts for a lot in my book. Don't get me wrong, it did have it's cool parts. A few.
Something rather interesting, when you get right down to the plain, bare fundamentals of it, The Joker really isn't all that different from Ra's Al Ghul. If you think about it. They see only mankind's very worst sides. They dwell on them. They count on them. And that was the downfall of the Joker's plan (IknowIknow, he "doesn't plan." Well, he does.). When you are counting on humanity's dark side, they go and show you just how great they can be.
The one other thing the movie did do, it made you realize just how awesome Batman really is. The last minute or so of the movie, the last five or so, actually, were really just amazing. Truly amazing. What he was willing to do for the people of Gotham. He was willing to go beyond fighting crime for them (That's too easy.) he was willing to become a villain in there eyes, because that was what they needed.
That is what makes him a true hero.
I mean, aside from the fact that he is not wearing hockey pants...

The Hobbit 2012 Worse Case Scenario No.3
In my humble opinion, it would be a great mistake not to put Legolas in The Hobbit movie. I know, he is never mentioned in the book. Big Fat Harry Deal. They are going to put plenty of people in that movie that aren't in the book. 'Sides, Legolas is old, that was his home, I am positive he'd of been there at the time the book was taking place.
And anyway., I think I read that he is going to be in it. They hope. I just wanted to do this post.

You Know it is Bad When...
...It's so cold that you and your sister are sitting by the window watching the water freeze.
...It's so cold that you go to brush water off you jacket, only to find that it has turned to ice.
...It's so cold that 23 degrees was nice, because there was no wind-chill making it 16...

You Know....
The world has been turning around for a long time. Countless empires and civilizations have risen and fallen. Millions and millions of people have never learned to read and write. Thousands probably didn't even know there was such a thing. But not today. Today, you can sit down and send yourself an email. If that isn't pathetic, I don't know what is.
Forgive me for just wasting a minute of you time.

Firefly
It was once said " Firefly.....Was a work of art."
This is absolutely true. Well, as of all of the episodes I have watched, it is absolutely true.
I really have nothing more to say about it, at the moment. I just had to say that much.
Firefly was indeed a work of art.

So, it is not a full, true smile.
He was talking at the time, but he smiled just a tiny bit while he was talking.
:) It's Hugh, the most endearing Borg that ever lived. Right at this moment, he was saying that he would like to stay with Geordi. I think it is about one of my all favorite TNG moments.

A Wee Bit of Bragging
I don't mean to brag on my blog, but I said this to Kae and she got the biggest kick out of it.
"I can answer anything with a quote from something. And I don't even need Princess Bride. But if I ever have to call someone a warthog-faced buffoon, I'll know what to say."
So, I am ashamed that I would think of quoting that movie. I am sure I could come up with a far better insult if I had to.

A Lesson in Humility Is...
...Thinking "When am I ever wrong?" whilst running around a muddy corner.
Yup.
*Splat*
I wasn't thinking it seriously, I was only joking to myself, but still. It was humiliating. Very. A bit painful too. And my jeans and jacket will need to be washed...
